Description
This course delves into leadership, teamwork, and communication in the context of coaching, exploring current coaching theories, methods, practices, and outcomes. Students will investigate the origins and development of American sports, while critically examining the character of coaching and its evolution. Topics will include coaching principles, practical coaching situations, leadership in coaching, the methods of great coaches, decision-making, coaching ethics, and contemporary issues within collegiate, high school, and youth sports. Emphasis will be placed on effective communication, ethical decision-making, and the fostering of teamwork in a variety of coaching environments.
