Description

This course provides an overview of legal and ethical issues pertaining to traditional print and broadcast media, as well as Internet communication and advertising. Students will review U.S. case law involving issues such as libel, privacy, copyright, censorship, and licensing, and will examine these issues from other cultural and legal perspectives. The course will also address ethical responsibilities of communication professionals. It is recommended that students complete a course in law or communication prior to enrolling in this course.

Prerequisite: ENG 176 Critical Writing II. It is recommended that students complete a course in law or communication prior to enrolling in this course.

Course enrollment is limited to juniors and seniors.
